About Cottagecore
Cottagecore imagined a slower, rural life through dress, craft and domestic imagery. It became especially prominent online during the 2020 lockdowns, when gardening, baking and countryside fantasies offered forms of escape. Fashion versions drew on prairie dresses, gathered sleeves, floral prints and old-fashioned collars. These references could appear in vintage clothing or new designs.
