Angela Missoni developed a distinctive approach to colour, pattern and knitwear within her family's Italian fashion house. After working across the business and establishing her own line, she became Missoni's creative director in 1997.

Her collections translated the label's zigzags, stripes and intricate knitted surfaces into relaxed separates and evening clothes for a younger audience. She also helped expand the house through collaborations, including its 2011 Target collection. Her long period directing the main line ended in 2021, leaving an influential interpretation of the family's textile heritage.
