Carlos Falchi

  • Leather collage
  • Unconstructed handbags

Carlos Falchi moved from making leather clothing for musicians to concentrating on handbags in the early 1970s. His designs explored collaged skins, inventive finishes and relaxed construction. In 1979 he introduced an unlined buffalo satchel cut from one skin with just two seams, offering a supple alternative to the rigid construction associated with traditional handbags.
