Costa developed the house’s minimalist vocabulary through architectural cutting, tactile surfaces and subtly experimental construction. His collections could appear restrained from a distance while revealing complex layering, exposed seams or woven materials up close. He received CFDA womenswear honors in 2006 and 2008.
