Germana Marucelli helped establish an independent language for Italian couture after the Second World War. Trained in a family dressmaking workshop, she opened a Genoa salon in 1932 before developing her practice in Milan.

About Germana Marucelli

Her atelier also hosted a cultural salon, and collaborations with artists became part of her work from 1948. She participated in Florence's pioneering Italian fashion presentations in 1951 and 1952.
