Rochas's green wool suit pairs a jacket with a long, straight skirt. Broad curved lapels, a belted waist and patch pockets organize the jacket's front. Dated to the middle of the 1930s, it provides a tailored counterpart to the ruffled silk dress attributed to the same designer.

Rochas's black silk dress uses layered ruffles to frame the shoulders and continue down one side of the long skirt. The museum dates it to about 1931 and identifies both Marcel Rochas and his house. The asymmetric decoration gives movement to a close, otherwise restrained evening silhouette.
