Pam Hogg was a Scottish designer and musician whose work grew from London’s counterculture in the early 1980s. Her provocative catsuits, unusual materials and theatrical silhouettes connected fashion with performance and the queer underground.

Warrior Queen jacket

This leather jacket uses metal studs and hanging chains to turn a familiar outerwear shape into theatrical club dress. The V&A dates it to Hogg’s Warrior Queen collection of autumn/winter 1988. Its collection record also includes a coordinated PVC cap; the photograph here shows the jacket.
