Vera Wang

  • Bridalwear
  • Dramatic draping

Vera Wang helped make bridalwear a central part of contemporary designer fashion after opening her New York salon in 1990. Her wedding dresses combine refined detailing with dramatic volume, layering and drapery, offering brides a fashion-led alternative to fixed ceremonial formulas.

About Vera Wang

She expanded into ready-to-wear in 2000, and received the CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year award in 2005. The relationship between bridal and evening dress is central to her work: both provide a setting for expressive silhouettes, delicate surfaces and carefully balanced construction.
