Vuokko Nurmesniemi

  • Large graphic prints
  • Minimal-seam construction
  • Loose silhouettes

Vuokko Nurmesniemi used bold prints and simplified construction to create clothing that allowed the body to move freely. At Marimekko from 1953 to 1960, she developed graphic textiles and the enduring Jokapoika shirt.
