Alessandro Michele’s pre-fall 2020 Gucci dress combines a long silhouette with an emphatic geometric pattern. Contrasting orange, blue, black and pale shapes establish a strong surface rhythm, while gathered sleeves and a defined waist organize the body underneath. The Met records silk and metal and retains the season rather than assigning an undocumented collection title.
