Behind the design

Simone Rocha’s spring/summer 2022 ensemble brings pale layers, a gathered upper section and a short, full skirt together in a delicate yet assertive silhouette. Silk, cotton, leather and plastic appear in the museum’s material record. The display photograph makes the layered construction visible, offering a useful comparison with the long, expansive evening silhouettes elsewhere in this decade.
