Giorgio Armani · Spring/summer 1994
This case study follows Giorgio Armani’s relaxed approach to tailoring, developed from experiments begun in the 1970s. Soft jackets, lighter construction and fluid trousers let cloth respond to movement while retaining a composed outline. The 1994 ensemble here carries those ideas into menswear. Armani’s work also crossed men’s and women’s wardrobes, but it does not represent every Italian tailoring tradition: other regional and designer practices could be more fitted, formal or decorative.
