Behind the design

Thom Browne reworked the proportions of the conventional suit and pieced its branch pattern by hand. He compared the intricate method to intarsia inlay. The spring/summer 2016 collection translated motifs associated with Japan into gray, combining a familiar masculine uniform with meticulous construction and an unusually pictorial surface.
