Trigère's 1953 evening dress combines a close, sleeveless shape with folds radiating downward from the neck. Its dark, textured surface rewards comparison with her later silk-and-rhinestone dress. The Met records wool and glass, documenting an evening garment whose material character differs from familiar silk couture gowns.
