Behind the design
Rick Owens’s fall/winter 2019–20 ensemble uses asymmetrical black drapery and a long trailing section to redraw the outline of the body. The museum lists cupro, elastane, cotton and nylon for the clothing, with leather and rubber accessories. The contrast between a short hem and an extended train creates its distinctive uneven rhythm.
