Behind the design

Christopher John Rogers’s spring/summer 2021 design organizes a close-fitting long dress through vivid horizontal bands of color. Circular motifs around the bust interrupt the repeating stripes and emphasize the body beneath. The Met dates this example as an edition made in 2025, an important distinction between the original design season and this particular museum object.
