Hip-hop fashion became increasingly visible across the 1990s, combining streetwear, sports references and the attraction of luxury labels. Baggy proportions and prominent branding were influential, but the style also included individual approaches to tailoring, colour and workwear. Designers such as Karl Kani created clothing for these audiences, and performers helped carry it into a wider public view.
