About Luxury streetwear

Luxury streetwear brought casual forms, graphic language and street or club references into the designer wardrobe. The examples here show several routes. Louis Vuitton’s 2017 Supreme collaboration joined two established brand identities. Public School’s layered sportswear and Nicopanda’s mix of punk, ballet and outerwear made personal and subcultural styling part of designer collections. Virgil Abloh’s Off-White ensemble from pre-fall 2018 takes a different approach: “LITTLE BLACK DRESS” printed on a knitted dress turns labeling itself into a challenge to fashion’s hierarchy of value. These relationships extend beyond a shared preference for conspicuous logos.
