Behind the design

The V&A describes this practical suit as typical of the designs that restored Chanel’s prominence after 1954. It combines a rust wool-tweed skirt and loose jacket with a navy jersey top. The suit was worn by the model Anne Gunning Parker, later Lady Nutting.
