Behind the design

A fitted, sleeveless upper body opens into an asymmetric skirt with a dramatically short front and long trailing sides. In the museum photograph, the layered styling makes the contrast between coverage and exposure especially clear. The Met records rayon as the material and gives an approximate date of 1993.
