Behind the design
A dark, patterned upper section sits above a pale full-length skirt in this Cardin evening dress. The long central dark element links the two zones. The Met dates the garment specifically to fall/winter 1967–68 and records wool, silk and cotton, providing an eveningwear counterpart to Cardin's more overtly futuristic ensembles.
