Behind the design

Piguet's wool coat from 1935–37 uses a dark, textured surface and an asymmetric arrangement of fasteners near the neck. Its broad shape and long sleeves place emphasis on outerwear proportion. The museum's named attribution makes it possible to compare his prewar tailoring with a fuller postwar ensemble.
