Behind the design
An Edwardian-style dress is deliberately torn and reworked to look aged, with lace gloves, decorated shoes and stitched tights completing the outfit. Takahashi dedicated this collection to filmmaker Jan Švankmajer. The Powerhouse places Undercover within ura-Harajuku’s independent fashion culture; this runway look shows the exchange between that scene and experimental designer fashion.
