Behind the design
This spring/summer 2015 dress combines polyester-viscose with polyester, elastane and nylon. Chalayan arranges contrasting patterned sections within an elongated silhouette, with loose strands projecting from one side. Looking across the garment reveals how an apparently simple long dress can become a study in asymmetry, contrasting surfaces and the relation between flat cloth and the space around it.
