Straps and metal fastenings give this dark ensemble its distinctive punk appearance. The Met credits both Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren, names Seditionaries as retailer and dates the object to about 1977. Its cotton, metal and rubber components connect the silhouette to bondage and military clothing references.
